- Coordinate with other research efforts (e.g., Federal Lands Highway CTIP, State DOTs, other FHWA, FTA, USFS San Dimas Technical Center, NPS Denver Service Center, University Transportation Centers, TTAP Centers, AASHTO, etc.)
- Identify high priority research needs
- Develop problem statements as input to NCHRP or other relevant research programs
- Identify funding sources for research
Activities:
- Research Subcommittee. The Research Subcommittee will develop a list and short description of research needs associated with the five focus areas noted above. This research needs list will be published and shared with other organizations. The subcommittee will develop problem statements for programs, such as NCHRP and TCRP, will help identify possible panel members and researchers, and will encourage consideration of the research needs by federal agencies and other groups. The subcommittee will also assist with the dissemination of information on completed research projects.
